Austrian Airlines BI Solution

Austrian Airlines Group [AUA] deployed enterprise business intelligence solution from Cognos in 2004.

Key in the decision to select Cognos, was Cognos ReportNetT's ability to easily interoperate with AUA's SAP Business Information Warehouse [SAP BW].

AUA includes three airlines -Austrian, Lauda Air, and Austrian Arrows - which together with its partners, provides connections to more than 700 cities in more than 130 countries. It covers every segment of the civil aviation industry from regular and chartered passenger flights to cargo carriage.

Executive Reporting

Executives and managers will leverage the Cognos solution to track and measure key performance metrics, and develop and share critical business and operational reports.

Time and Cost Management

AUA has used Cognos to streamline its time and cost management - saving time and money, as well as providing optimal support for its staff.

Using Cognos to access critical information from the rich data stored in SAP BW as well as in its non-SAP systems, it is now able to provide a single view of its business performance. This means AUA can effectively link strategy, people, and performance through metrics, aligned corporate goals.

BICC

AUA has also established a BI Center of Competence. The BICC initiates BI projects throughout the various departments.

Standardizing on Cognos has lowered the overall cost of ownership [TCO] by reducing the number of BI solutions to be managed and maintained.
